I know this should be in the pest section but....Can I use an automatic metered fly and mosquito spray inside my coop? Have a terrible mosquito problem in my area. The are made for barns and gereral livestock. They activate about every 20 mins or so. I do have a well ventilated coop. seven screened windows a pop door and a man door (stays shut most of the time). The coop is 8x8x8. Just curious?

Do not spray chemicals inside your coop. That would be unhealthy for your birds, you, and the environment.

Try something easier and safer like Flytape.

Even things that say made for barns and general livestock, I would not use it. I try to stay as natural as possible.

Whatever you spray into a chicken coop will settle into whatever there is on the floor. Chickens pick through everything, eating things at random. If the chemical is on the litter, straw, pine shavings, soil, then chickens may well ingest it.

Choose wisely.

Well with the mosquito issue I'm thinking you live in a pretty warm moist climate. So with that I'm wondering if you cant put citronella plants around the coop and all over in the area. Thats what we did, they dont like the plant taste, so the chickens dont bother it and the mosquitoes dont like it.There are also many other plants mosquitoes and flys dont like. I cant think of anymore right now but google it. I'm sure you could take one of those off clip on fans with the citronella in it and hang it in there. They will protect the coop for over 15 feet and works great if left in one area. Good luck hun hope it helps.

For flies I use the Christmas tree auto air fresheners in the vanilla scent. My coop is 8'x7' and I use 3-4 trees. Skeeters don't seem to be an issue, but I sure wouldn't use posion in my coop.
