just about last week we've had so many flies it's been unreal. They are in our coop and run. I clean poop out daily and I use thr horse litter that normally dries the poop up within 30 or so minutes. I have sticky fly traps hanging, I'm using the liquid fly trap stuff now and nothing seems to work. In the coop it's dry. Maybe 400-500 flies atleast!
In the hit weather like now 100-103 degrees I normally put a mister in their outside run but thought that could cause the flies so stopped that.
I have straw down in their outside run also thought that could be a factor? Any thoughts on the straw causing the flies? Picking up bags of pine chips/shavings and hoping that will get some flies away and pull up all the straw!
Any idea on how to get then down to minimum? I know they won't be all gone but some is better them none
