Yes I have asked for advice on BYH, but this forum is more populated and quick response would be greatly appreciated. I have a Hampshire Sow with a deep gouge I have been irrigating and treating with iodine for about 5 days,

with the rain and the flies I am fighting the good fight but don't think I am winning. As soon as she does her dirt roll the flies are mocking me. Calling my vet is not financially possible for a couple weeks and I think by then it might be really bad. How can I keep the flies out of the wound. She is over 400# so subduing her long enough for some stitches is out of the question.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
Again I did ask my fellow members @BYH as well. but I could use all the advise I can get at this point! Thank you.

We bought a bunch before they were cleared off the shelf.

Can you bath her (just to reduce the smell) and stick her in a pen on cement, like in a barn?

This is a rapid reply from a member of BYH.
Quote:"Permethrin aerosol spray, aka screw worm spray for cattle, you can use it as a wound dressing and it will keep flies away, just spray daily or more often if you can if it rains."
