Flies on EARS?

Does anyone know of a homemade fly repellent for German Shepherd ears? I have been trying vaseline and it is not working anymore..

I don't know of a homemade repellent, but my sister had the same problem with her german shepherd, her ears ended up bloody and raw, the vet gave her a lotion repellent that heals at the same time it works great and is easy to apply

SWAT, the pink stuff on horses eyes, are excellent for my dog's ears, just lightly rub good on the ears, not glopping pink. Just enough to coat it well. It would attract dirt but its better than nothing. Dog might take a lick but its nasty. So we never had any problems with them and highly recommend for those whose ears are getting pestered by gnats, and all biting flies.
