So.... I have a fly or gnat issue. The bugs are small and black, not timely like fruit flies. They seem to stay on the ground and not fly up high. I have them in my run and coop. During he day I can’t find them in the coop but are everywhere in the run and at nigh seem to move into the coop. They do bite I see little blood scabs on my ladies feet. I’m going to get DE and start using that. Anything else I can do. They are driving my girls crazy.
thanks!!

Get a bottle of concentrated Permethrin, dilute it per the label instructions into a pressurized garden sprayer and spray down the coop bedding during the day then spray down the run litter after the birds go to roost.
I'd put a bit of the diluted solution into a hand held trigger spray bottle and spray each chicken under both wings, under the vent, on both legs and at the nape of the neck.
See if that helps.

I agree. You can also get permethrin premixed spray or the concentrate. Not knowing what the pests are, if you get the concentrate I would mix it for the 0.50%.
