You could try those reusable net cages, www.flyfixed.com sells them! Plus they don't smell as bad as this disposable ones!

I had good luck with hanging bag traps last summer, seemed to get the situation under control quickly.

I realize this thread is over a couple of years old, but I had a ton of flies in and around my coops. I did detect some mites so I got out the permethrin and sprayed the coops for the mites. The bonus was it also eliminated the flied. What a pleasure it was to walk into a coop and not be bombarded with flies.
