FLIES......ugggg

A maggot can will do wonders...you can hang a can, with a hole cut in the bottom, with chicken wire wrapped 'round it, & peices of meat to attract the flies to the meat to lay eggs in, the maggots will hatch, eat the meat, & then fall through the holes on the bottom of the can, where they drop into a recepticle to feed yer birds...two problems solved...

We use DE to dust the coop and run with, and use a fly trap or two along the fence, away from the coop. The trap I used last was one of those plastic bags where you cut the little circle out on top and pull the yellow assembly through the hole. The bait is in a gel pack inside, and dissolves when you fill it to the line with water. I hung it with a piece of polypropylene twine, and within an hour or two it was thick with flies inside and outside. They had already started to layer down in the liquid. Amazing how well that works!

Well I love all the advice... I love this place.... And man am I glad there is a Tractor Supply Company store opening up in the next town over,,, As a matter of fact.. I think they open this week..!
Thanks again everyone..
