We use these refillable containers from the feed store to get rid of flies. You fill them with water and put the powder i them. Close up they smell horrible, but flies love them.
They are called "Rescue" reusable fly trap. I shake mine around every time I go out to the coop and refill with a little water when there is too much stuff in it. The flies turn to mush.
I need to put out a few more. I hang mine from trees with pretty strings and hooks. Does the job.
