How do I get rid of the flies in my chicken coop. I clean it 3 to 4 times a week and since the rain it’s been so bad with flies. Can anyone tell me what I can use that’s not harmful to my girls and it will keep the nasty bugs away? Thank you

I find the rain washes away the reminants of chicken poo so it results in less flies outside of the coop and run. Try cleaning up the chickens poop every day where its covered (coop, run). I also use some fly paper hung up where the chickens can't get in it.

There is a product called Farm360 that can be sprayed which rapidly breaks down feces with bacteria. It is from the same company that makes Gro2Max probiotics.

Sweet PDZ stall fresh, pine flack shavings in covered areas. Spray with martins permethrin 13.3%. Mix for fly control. It is safe to spray on chickens for lice and mites and you don't have to with hold eggs. One treatment controls my fly issues for a few weeks.
