I'm having extreme problems with flies as well...unlike ever before and we are new to keeping chicks so it has to be poop attracting them right?
If I got the yellow fly traps wouldn't it better to locate it away from the coop/run if the trap attracts the flies? That way the flies will go to it rather than the poop right?
Anybody try that?

In my experience with the tape type traps I hanged them above and out of reach of the chicks. Flies land wherever they can. Both times I caught dozens of flies on them.

Same problem here. Flies everywhere.
