So here’s how my early morning started...

Around 4AM, my rooster loses his mind, crowing like the world’s ending.
Then I hear my 6-week-old goose honking like it’s being chased by a ghost,
Ducks quacking, chickens flapping — the whole farm is losing its feathery mind.

So of course, I fly out of bed thinking, “Here we go, coyote? Hawk? Apocalypse?”

I grab a light and run outside…
Nothing.
Quiet.
Everyone staring toward the house.
Weird.

I walk back to the door, a little confused, and that’s when I see it —
Sitting next to my cat, cool as ever, is a big black possum.
Just chillin’.
EATING THE CAT’S FOOD.

And the cat?
Just sitting there, watching him like,
“I mean… he’s hungry too, I guess.”

So now we’ve got a new visitor around here —
I named him Ray Ray, after a wild dude I used to know out in Banning, California who had the same “I’ll just be here until someone stops me” energy.

The flock was ready to riot, and Ray Ray was just vibin’.

What a night.

When my daughter in laws catio rusted on the bottom they were getting inside and eating bowls of dry cat food. Some even tried to get in her bedroom thru the pet door until I closed the hole. I only feed one stray and I feed him before dark .That keeps the night crawlers from homesteading here
