Where do you hang them to keep he chickens from picking at them?

We hung them up from the ceiling and on the wire that our feeder hangs from. Ours haven't bothered ours at all. I know some people have hung them in doorways too.

I'm definitely going to try the vanilla car freshners! CA has a multitude of flies and living in the San Joaquin valley means "central livestock and farming' area so the flies know right where to come. Yuck! I'm going to hang some on our covered patio, too!

We bought some Terminator Fly Attract, it's a liquid you pour into a jar w/ water, there is a slight opening at the top to attract the flies (you can pick them up at Tractor Supply for about $7.00, the refills are about $5 for two) this works GREAT!!!!!

The first time we put one out there it attracted 100's of those little annoying critters. (my husband says it was about 3lbs of water logged dead flies) he dumped it so, he'd know..lol

we went out and bought another one and a replacement package and have them hanging down from the roof of the coop to about 8 to 10 inches from the ground, they already have flies in them now, but the first one pretty much eradicated most of them out of the coop.
