WEll I dont see any leg problems in any of the 20+ ducks I have? they are normal and strait? The older ducks never had any problems and this group is younger and about 8 weeks and I have 15 in that group both groups were fed and treated the same? the first runner duck I kept up for 24 hours and then she seemed fine...yeasterday another crested duck started have seizures!same group but not as bad as the runner duck but still! so she is up now...I have not gone to check on her this morning

Maybe genetic? Hard to say but if you can afford it maybe an avian vet would be worth a try. You do know crested ducks can have neurological problems?

well the first one was a runner duck and this one was a crested and they are not related...which makes me think deficency

Both seem fine now...I have added the supplements to all of the waters

or maybe a toxic plant that they have gotten into as they do free range...any common plants to the south that can cause this?

Wait a minute. This could be way off, but only 2 females and 7 males and they are 8 weeks old?

Have they started practicing mating behaviors yet? How much time do you get to spend with them? Has she been jumped and injured?

It is a bit early, but mine started hop on top at 10 to 12 weeks, maybe earlier.

Well, yes ... kinda .... the smaller group is total 4 females (two crested and 2 runner) and 7 males (5 runner and two ruen) and in the other group it is 3 male and 3 females...I know the older group has started it as I saw them today! haha but I have not seen any of the younger ones doing it...I spend alot of time watching them for 5-15 min every 30min-90min average probably as it is my duck TV

They have been free ranging further from the house this week...and that means more chances to get into bad plants...I am hoping that is the case...I once had a goose that ate to much of a small type of clover and started walking like it was drunk! I was very worried and thought it would die, but we discovered the problem and he recovered in a few days

It just seems to me not to rule out the duck has been the object of some rough play, perhaps in the coop at night.

Lukewarm baths two or three times a day, TLC, perhaps separate from the others if you have not done so already.

Yes, I gave them each 24 hours and they were more than ready to get back with the others...but I have been watching them like a hawk (hehe pun intended and so far so good ... Im also keeping them closer today incase is was something they ate and adding vitiamens to their water...better safe than sorry
just wondering...my older group that has started to mate....will they lay eggs soon...I thought that they only bred when they were about to lay or already laying and I thought they only layed in the spring?

I think age has something to do with it, and ducks seem to depart from the general rules often enough.

My runners started acting out mating behaviors about four weeks before the first egg, eight to twelve weeks before the last duck started laying.

They should start laying soon if mating has begun, usually 5-months on up to 9 months depending on breed. my last Muscovy girls were 7 months before they started to lay. They could have eaten something that didn't agree with them, if you suspect something like that you can give molasses in their water for no longer than 8 hrs, and also give activated charcoal in their water, not the charcoal bricketts that you use in grilling but in the supplement isle. I looked for activated charcoal at Walmart last week though and they didn't carry it. But both molasses and charcoal will help move toxins out of their systems.
