I just did the float test on a few questionable eggs at 18 days before I do lock down. THEN... I read where the float test is a bad idea. This is my first experience with an incubator and I was trying to avoid an exploding egg. Has anyone ever done a float test and the egg survives? One person said that if you do it, you'll be lucky if the chick survives.

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
