I just did the float test on a few questionable eggs at 18 days before I do lock down. THEN... I read where the float test is a bad idea. This is my first experience with an incubator and I was trying to avoid an exploding egg. Has anyone ever done a float test and the egg survives? One person said that if you do it, you'll be lucky if the chick survives.

Pipping has begun and the first three to pip are ones that I dunked but I have a question. How do you determine if a chick can break thru the membrane or not? Started pip at 9 last night. Getting nervous 😳 humidity has been 70-74%. When I look closer, I do see a tiny tear
