I have 8 barred rock hens/pullets no roosters... they have started laying now ... it's a slow process as they were different ages... first week only one a day then two then three now four... I've gotten 5 twice now... so my question... sometimes the eggs have little black speck floating and sometimes a couple of specks... these are not the white thingy (lol don't know what that's called) so why/what is the speck???

Those little black dots are blood or meat spots. Sometimes some tissue breaks loose in the oviduct, or sometimes a little vessel ruptures. Completely normal. The eggs are still good to eat. You can just take a spoon and scoop out the spot if you want. The reason you don't see them in store bought eggs is because those are candled, and any that aren't perfect don't make it to the store.

lol im in an urban area. chickens are allowed there are no laws for them, but if someone complains because there to noisy i have to give them away so... dont want that to happen.
I have 2 that are quite noise when they lay an egg... I like it though cause they just so proud of what they did... however, my other ones don't do all that bragging... but they all get noise when they see me headed to the yard because they're spoiled they know I'm bringing some nice treats....
