Floating duck house

I've been reading about this new trend where people are getting votes to live in. They look like a beautiful house on the inside but it's on the boat. They talk about the Downside is having to find some place to doc it while it freezes. Would you have a place where you could bring it to the shore during times when it freezes

I am planning on building a floating duck house for my two runner ducks. Is it a good idea to have a floating duck house during winter when pond will freeze?

Will you have to tend that house? (Food, water, bedding, egg collection.) Would you reach is by boat, wading, swimming, walking on the ice? If it's right up against the shore, you might be able to reach it from shore.

I'm guessing it's just as good or bad as any other location, as long as you can tend them, and as long as it's predator proof/locked up at night (and whatever level of predator safety is needed for day.)
