Flock pens

Does anybody have any pics or ideas on their flock pens?

I have been thinking of using old feed silos (cut in a half of course) for the flock houses and having square pens. A local bantam breeder uses them (but they were in the center of the round pens, which does make the bantams difficult to catch when they want to be!).

I have large fowl in mind.

is 30 x 30 large enough for a flock pen? The house would be 9 feet circumference. Mild winters. Hot humid summers but they will be under shade.

15 large fowl is the goal *maximum* in each pen.

Does is get hot where you are? If it does that metal will heat up like an oven! I don't know how hot it could get but you would need a lot of air flow through it to keep it cool. where are you located?
