my feed store doesn't carry this and i was wondering if there was anything equivalent to this as i have birds of varying ages and would prefer buying only one thing of feed instead of starter, grower, and layer.

If you click on this link you can put in your zipcode and it will tell you who sells the same type of feed. Its made by kent and is the best brand I have found for my birds. http://www.kentfeeds.com/products/poultry/HF/homeFresh.php

Even that feed is only good for hens until they start laying. You still need a layer ration for active layers.

For the most part "Flock Raiser" is just a Non-Medicated Starter/Grower Feed.
If you are feed a multi-age flock you can feed everyone a Non-Medicated Starter or a Non-Medicated Starter/Grower and everyone will be just fine.

I've used Flock Raiser on ALL of my birds, from chicks to layers. You just add oyster shells in a pan for them or sprinkle in their feed for layers. Never had any issues.

Sometimes I would "stretch" out when my feed store only has one bag of Flock Raiser and I need two to last for the month. So I would combine Flock Raiser and Layena together and they did just fine.
