My flock is weird
tongue.png

Lately we have been having some very hot weather. It has reached 3 digits a couple of times already Chickens are hiding and sleeping in their shaded coop for most of the day, conserving energy and basically trying to keep cool (which is very normal).

I've also noticed that they have started to get active when the sun goes down. But the weird thing is, they are scratching the ground, eating, drinking and doing all the normal things chicken do during daylight hours in the middle of the night. When I mean night, I mean night. They leave their coop about 7:30pm and stay up all night long. It's 1am in the morning over here and the chickens are in the pen still moving around eating and drinking. One would think they should be in their coop sleeping but they are not. Isn't that strange?

There is enough light in their environment to function at night. It's just weird seeing them up so late. Then again the whole household are night owls.
