Flooded Duck Nest!

She is back on the nest. I guess I’ll see how far along the pipped duckling is tonight. I could return this duckling if she’s acting like a good mom. I had planned on returning all the babies to her but I’ll see how things go

They sure are precious. I hope it works out to put the one hatching one back hopefully you'll know what her intentions are before you have to leave for work.
Keep an eye on the membrane it doesn't dry out.

Yep! He/she fully hatched in the evening and is already moved in with the other 4. Eating, drinking and doing well so far!

I’ve never had a duckling with markings around the eyes like that before!

What a precious baby, When we mix breeds it's always amazing what will come out and they always make sure pretty ducklings and ducks. I hope you will continue to post pics and let us know how they are doing, and if mama finishes her job of hatching and rearing.

Could this be an internal pip? This is one of the 4 eggs still under mom. No noise or movement however

Looks like something is in the air cell? How is it this morning? You may have caught the duckling resting is why you don't hear anything.

Mama duck is on the nest and I didn’t want to disturb her so I haven’t checked the eggs yet. The other ducklings are 48 hours old and doing great!
