Floor Plan?

I wanted to put shower doors in the el, but unfortunately the bookcase is too short.

I cut a wood garage door for that part; it has a cardboard baffling system inside it that might provide nice insulation value. I will put a 2x2 under the bottom edge of the garage door to provide the slit of ventilation and to prevent the water runoff from going into the coop.

Sounds like the design is firming up.

Not that it would change anything you are doing at the moment given government doesn't move quickly but I would think it a long term benefit to all chicken owners affected by the current statute if you found other MN chicken owners with a fair number of years of chicken husbandry to get together the facts related to chickens and acceptable temperatures. I expect some animal loving person ignorant of the facts has anthropomorphized chickens and decided that the birds would suffer if the temperature dropped to freezing. Since nothing is further from the truth, the statute could be rewritten to be reasonable including that the birds must have water when they are not roosting and that proper ventilation be provided to reduce humidity (no frostbite) and keep the ammonia from building up.
