Floor Run

I have 2 Ducks, and 3 chickens. The ducks drop a lot of water near their bucket. I have a bucket cut out that they can stick their heads in. I was told it was less mess than a regular waterer. Anyway, that part of the run is getting muddy and a little smelly. I have Rubber wood chips in the area(I couldn't find natural hardwood wood chip). Any suggestions on what to put down to limit the mud?

Consider putting sand, It will drain well, if it is deep enough, and high enough to surrounding area.
Somehow, I do not know much about those rubber chips. Are those shredded tires?? Are there possible wires in them, that could work their way to possibly cause puncture wounds on your flocks' feet?
I don't see a picture of your setup,, so have to just do some guessing.
Can you put the Duck waterer into the lowest corner of the run area.???
Have a separate waterer for your chickens that is shallow. Possibly fill with marbles or stones. Ducks do need to stick their heads into water deep.
