floor

I personally would use DLM only over ground. The moisture required for it to compost properly/well will cause undesired results to your floor. In your situation ( I would use sand ), and scoop out gumdrops regularly. Then place in a compost pile for future gardening use.

WISHING YOU BEST

Should I paint the wooden floor before using sand
cheers Phil
Paint will surely extend the life of the floor. The sand should dry up and stay dry with the little moisture from droppings, that should dry with no problem. Try to keep weather related moisture like rain and snow to a minimum if possible for best results. You may have heard the term " "MADDER THEN A WET HEN "

Well, on this side of the pond , I have heard it often.
