Flooring Material for Geese - Is hardware cloth ok?

Hi

What's the thinking about harware cloth for the floor of a goose house.

I have a 4x8 foot floor with "joists" every 16" and I would rather put hardware cloth down than what i have now -- plywood, for cleanliness and disease resistance.

is hardware cloth ok?

How many geese?

I have lino over plywood with wood shavings on top. I use the deep litter method and haven't had to clean out the coop since August. I do have good ventilation...
