I live in a very wet area and am constantly battling wet floors. I had a wooden floor but it completely rotted out after just 4 years. Now I am thinking about using sand. Does anyone have any ideas.

An enclosed coop floor should remain dry and protected from wet conditions. Some people use deep sand but I prefer a raised wood floor (pressure treated wood) covered with pine chips. This type of floor will last a lifetime or more! The run is exposed to rain and the elements. Some people again have success with several inches of sand (drains well). Mine is a dirt run that I cover with straw and pine chips and add a few wood pallets as well for raised areas. Hope this Helps!
