My husband starts construction for the chicken coop for the chicks . He was rushed last time around and well...half assed it all.(he truly had the best of intentions ) what kind of flooring should we use for their indoor coop so it's easy to clean . We could use any tips you could provide :)

My advice would be to either paint the floor with several coats of a thick paint intended for porches or to buy a scrap piece of vinyl flooring. Don't opt for the 12x12 vinyl sticky tiles - I used those in my smallest coop and they started peeling up after a while...

I was eyeing the stick tiles (Home Depot makes you buy the width of a 10 ft roll for vinyl) so the stick tiles actually ended up cheaper) and am not glad I didn't! I ended up buying two 3x4 black rubber mats that I can cut to size and hopefully pull out to clean. Hoping will insulate and cushion a bit like a horse stall mat.

You can also use fiberglass reinforced panel (FRP) boards for the flooring. They come in 4x8' sheets. You see them on the walls of commercial bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, etc.. Usually come in a pebbly surface, but it's easy to scoop and scrub/hose out.
