One of my hens (a sapphire jem) recently started getting a floppy comb, she stays away from the rest of the flock and keeps her head tucked in most of the time, she seems ill, but continues to eat and drink, she's been like this for a couple months now. Any ideas? Had anyone experienced this before?

Is she laying eggs?

Check to see that her crop empty first thing in the morning before she eats/drinks. Could be the photo or she's just a good eater, but she's got quite a crop on her.

She is young - about a year old, and should be at her best laying, but instead stopped laying eggs all together! The large crop is just because of the way the photo was taken.

Hen is 6 months. A midnight majesty. I think she just started laying. There was a huge egg yesterday which was a full double when opened. I have a Wyandotte also that is 7 months so I am not 100% sure the egg was from midnight. The comb had been upright and just flopped recently. I will try to catch her to check crop this morning and get picture

This is pic of the super egg. I started getting eggs that color about a week ago but they were just a little larger than egg in middle. I think the small egg is first egg from a polish hen. I put them together for comparison

What is your concern? Her comb is flopping over a bit or ?
Some hens as they mature, their combs do naturally flop over. If she's eating/drinking and active then I would just keep watch on her and make note of anything unusual.

My concern is that it was upright until about this week
