FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

hi every one. I have been away for a couple of months and am still looking to find neer buy some polish frizzle bantams chickens or fertiles eggs. any one knows or have near kissimmee.

I used to go over to that swap when gas was cheaper. It is a 2 hour drive over for me. The swap then was 8am to noon. We did have good swaps. I haven't been there for well over 3 years now.
Ouch...yeah that's a bit of a drive. I'm hoping in the future maybe to carpool with my sister and be able to go further out and still be cost effective

It is always a possibility. If you purchase an animal, you need to keep it in quarantine for two weeks. and wash up every time you fool around with it.

When you get home from a swap wash your clothes and wipe down your shoes.
Years ago, speckled hen mentioned the possibility of bringing something back from the feed store.
We have a shallow pan that we put antiseptic in and step in after going places with other animals.

It is always a possibility, but if you know how to be careful, then these swaps are fun and informative, and you meet a lot of really great people.
I got my dear departed roster from a swap. He was a fantastic addition and I am so glad I went. It was at Nava's years ago.

Don't you guys worry about possibility of introducing disease into your
flocks by going to a swap? Just curious.

The quote button is acting up.

I have not been to a swap before, but I agree with 3goodeggs...I quarantine news birds before putting them in with my flock and think it is a smart idea to change and disinfect shoes if you go anywhere that you could possibly bring something home to your flock

Arrgh... my very important rooster has got a bumblefoot..

He is in a separate pen right now already because he's molting and no chicks were being made, so life is pretty quiet for him, but i still need him as my main Black Copper Breeding roo.

I have Tylan50 powder on hand, will this work? and has anyone ever heard of a bumblefoot resolving without resorting to the awful surgery i saw online..

I found also that one of my sbels has it in both feet but it seems very mild with her so I didn't realize what it was at first. It seems with her to be more of a wear and tear issue rather than a specific injury.
