i don’t currently have any friends for it. people have told me on the forum i should get 2 more friends for it but they also have told me order limits are 3 chicks and my husband only wanted one more so now i’m going to start to look for 2 more chicks hopefully female that can be friends with this one.

The other people are correct. They are flock oriented and do better, even a small flock. Around here there are plenty of chicks available. Do you have any feed stores that sell chicks? Most of the time they offer pullets. Again, good luck and have fun...

Hello! I'm looking for 2-3 laying ducks to add to my flock. Preferably Khaki Campbells or black/blue Swedish. *just to clarify I'm looking for females* Please refer me to anyone who has available ducks. I live in Myakka Florida and will am willing to look in other Central Florida areas.

Hi all! I finally found ? A thread? For Floridians. I’m new to BYC so am not too familiar with how the website works. I live in Naples area gulf side s Florida. I’ve done the web introduction but in nutshell I have 13 4 mo old chickens. We (husband) are enjoying them so much. Wish we had thought about it years ago. I ordered 11 birds and received 13. All friendly, healthy but I am considering rehoming the two Dominique females if I can find a really good home. They are calm, friendly, follow you around for treats. They are not lap chickens like my Cochin. Is anyone familiar with the wooded areas in Florida and all the “ toxic” wild plants? I was going to free range my birds but I was too afraid of poisonous plants. We cleared a large area of most plants and fenced it. Love the cover though all the trees give. I hope to hear from some Floridians as we have some unique situations other states don’t have. Thanks!
My girls have destroyed all the grasses and weeds in their area and now they forage in the rest of the yard when they go out for field trips with us. I was concerned about some possible toxic weeds and plants, including the acorns & oak leaves, but they have shown no illness or issues. After reading up on it lots of different places, I really do believe they have that natural instinct to know what not to eat and they just like to worry us. 😜 I hope you're girls are still doing well. It sounds like you have some beauties! 😍

Our Dunnellon TSC farm swap was a bomb Saturday. It was too cold. Only me and another fellow showed up. Neither of us stayed very long. It as 27 out according to the thermometer in my car. Hopefully the next swap will be warmer.
