Ugh is on my Wife's B/day and on MI 1st football game(GO BLUE)...and if I make her miss the game I may need a divorce lawyer!! lol....I may find a way since I'm sure I'll know how many roo's I have by then...

That is actually what I want to do for my Birthday outing, as mine is August 31st. So she's a Virgo, too, huh? No wonder I liked her right away! We can make it a joint birthday celebration of some sort - bring a cake or get some lunch or something.

The grass in our yard is a foot high at this point. I'm really hoping it gets taken care of this weekend.....

Yes yes, love my Sebastopol geese and their constant grass eating

Hooray for some sunshine!! I desperately needed to hose out the coop. It was just gross.

Luckily the rain has helped me identify some leaky areas that need a bit of caulk. Hence the gross shavings inside after a couple of weeks of on and off rain

Last night I put 4 cockerels in the holding cage, intending to butcher them today. But they must also be doing the rain dance, because the forecast calls for 70% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. And it already rained a bit this morning. I'm trying to talk myself into going out and just doing it anyway, but my back is hurting and it might be best to wait until tomorrow or Sunday. I'll put those boys back in the pen and take away their dancing shoes.

I have a little hen who has gone broody, does anyone nearby have eggs they'd like to have hen-hatched? I really don't want to make any more of my chickens right now, nor do I want to hatch more ducks. I have 3 hens setting on goose eggs right now, but the geese aren't laying anymore this year. Let me know ASAP so we can make the plans. I'm going to move the hen, Q-Tip, into separate quarters tonight and give her a few days to settle in there before setting her with something.
