, she is making all sorts of sizes now from the purse to messenger bags to reusable shopping bags. I may be on the lookout for empty plasit feed bags if anyone around here can share. She has cleared my feed room out and taken the new dog feed bag too.

I'd love me some big Jersey Giants for my table, but I live across the state from you. If you lived closer I'd take your roos and have you over on a day when I was processing some other birds.

Anyone want a single Khaki Campbell drake? I have too many for the number of girl ducks here, they're all getting snatched bald-headed by the too-frequent attentions of the males. Let me know, I'm in western West Palm Beach.

That would be a great experience. These guys will be BIG. I swear Big Boy is as wide as he is tall! I will be taking them all to the swap in Ocala next Saturday. If I happen to be headed your direction before I find takers for them, maybe we could arrange something. Let me look at a map.....

, Lyric signing onto this topic.

I'm new to chickenry (I think I made that word up). So new, in fact, that we do not have any chickens . . . . YET! We hail from Central Florida and are in the process of moving to our land in beautiful Frostproof. We want everything to go smoothly and do right by our animals so I am reading all that I can to make it so. DH (dear hubby) says we should stick with a couple types of chicken and we definitely want Ameraucana. He is interested in good meat chicken and excellent layers. It occurred to me that for each type of chicken we decide upon we'll need a rooster to keep our stock up. Guess that means we won't have more than say three types.

I see that I have so much to learn and having a small farm will not happen overnight. We are excited and looking forward to a more self-sufficient, simple lifestyle.

Thank you all professionals for being here and willing to share. Soon I'll be in a position to share and offer help to someone else.

Peace,

Lyric

Wait! Did I read something about "see you at a swap"? We do that here??? Wooooo whooo. I am so there. I swap soap with fellow soapers, so I am excited at the possibility of swapping in this medium. What do you swap, eggs??? Another thing, one day I want to find out where we can purchase the paper egg crates (hate the plasticky ones). Hopefully, our birds will offer enough for my fam. and that we can share. I truly hope to live off our little farm and have it sustain us and turn a small profit.

My hubby would have loved to help you out. I sure hope something like this exists in the Fall when we move onto our land. Bless your heart for sharing.
