FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Here is another roo for someone. I'm so sad, I could JUST CRY. My only Spitzhauben of 9 eggs to hatch (I had one more hatch but it appears to be a mutt Barabanter mix of some sort - I might be willing to sell the mutt too, as they seem to be bonded to eachother and would make really cool babies). He comes from a good line from Ohio and has the correct forward facing crest. Don't mind the bare neck - I finally figured out a few weeks ago that my crazy Sumatra stands under them and pecks their neck feathers. I've increased her protein - crazy bird -

If he goes to someone with good quality Spitzhauben hens, I WANT HATCHING EGGS!

ETA - I will be at Nava's swap on the 3rd if you want to pick him up there.

I think it's probably fine that they're doing that about the ducks... & globally, there are bigger issues, endangered & threatened populations of animals being killed, etc...

Mostly I'm sure they're killing those ugly muscovy ducks, anyway. I hear they have juicy breasts- they should feed the homeless duck dinners instead of just euthanizing them. That is irresponsible. I hope they don't just go to waste. I love eating duck!

I am about to set some eggs in hopes of a few hens, we would be a few more months but gladly have hatching eggs available when they mature.

Really?! You have Spitzhaubens? I wasn't planning on hatching anything till next spring, so that would work out well. Sniff sniff....I feel better just knowing SOMEONE has some.

Feed your chickens sunflower seeds.Good for feathers & eggs production. I been feeding them to my chickens & now my rooster dont wanna give the girls a break.

Here's to hoping your hatch goes better than mine did! Keep me posted.

Floridachicken - yes, I do give them those, too. I don't need fertile eggs, though, as I can't have roosters. Just chicks without missing feathers would be nice.....

So, maybe I was wrong and they weren't fertilized? There was a white dot with a white ring around it. From this pic that isn't fertilized.....maybe I got my daughter's hopes up for nothing? Ahhh.....MAN!

By the way, I got 3 eggs today. Unless there was one laid after I put them up for the night.

His VERY handsome and obvious not from a hatchery with that proper head dress. I'm so sorry you are losing him. I still have my 1 hatchery one and she's lovely.
