OMyGosh!! Both my girls laid eggs for me today!! It was their first full day here w/ us in their new home & they are doing great! & it was Star that laid an egg on me while I was holding her yesterday not Sparkle and she was the first of the 2 girls to lay today as well! Star laid her perfect little tan egg in the middle of the run run & proceeded to stand over & around it so that it didn't get broken! She looked SO CUTE!
Then while I had the girls inside w/ me enjoying some nice a/c (yes I am already spoiling them, hehehe) Sparkle followed me to my bathroom while I was straightening my hair. When I looked down there she was SQUATTING on my towel!!Next thing I knew she started singing/yelling her "Bok, bok, bogawk" little egg song which amazed me because I have never heard one before... After over an hour of sitting there on the floor of my bathroom w/ her bogawking, pushing, & her booty "shaking" she just kinda gave up & sat in my lap. So I loved on her for a little bit til she seemed happy again & I took the girls back out to their run to play around 6:15 or... I was worried about Sparkle & even posted a thread about if it could be stress causing her not to be able to lay & then I had this feeling to go & check on them one more time after cleaning my kitchen up from dinner, AND GUESS WHAT?! I found this tiny tan egg laying in the pine shavings on the floor of their coop right in front of the steps for the nesting boxes, it almost looked like she may have been trying to get in but decided "no way it's coming out now" lol...
I am so proud of my girls!!
