OMG, you mean Juan wants more roos? Sounds to me that he is loyal to his roosters.Well I got 3 Buff Orpington roos he can have if he would like.

Welcome, Rose!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Didn't someone here mention feeding their chickens red pepper to get them laying again? Didi it work? If so, how much did you use? Right now the only ones laying are my rouen duck and my little white leghorn. I moved them to the new coop/aviary at the end of the summer, and I've hardly gotten any eggs since then.

Chickens really slack off this time of the year between molts and lack of sunlight. We have a light in the coop that comes on when we start chores each evening and I turn off around 7:30-8:00pm. Our oldest RIR hens started laying again this week, and one of the oldest EE hens. We have several younger EE, OE, and Ameracuana hens just starting to lay. Waiting for the young BC Marans to get going.

Ducks laying we have Khaki Cambell and Rouen both laying. Waiting for the Silver Appleyard, And Buffs to start. Breeding happening in all the Call duck pens, and LF duck pens already. Even the African Geese have started. Splitting the Sebastopol Geese up today into their breeding groups. Looks to be a busy breeding season ahead with the activity going on around here.

1958, we were at the feed store yesterday next to you. Had to pick up more hay that I forgot to have them deliver this week. What do you have breed wise of hens for sale. I have a lady I need to call back today. Her voice mail to me was she is looking for a reddish brown small hen.

hoping she can give me more details than that when I call her.
