hello everyone!
im so happy to see a FL thread

my name is allison and im the proud parent to 6 chicks that are 9 weeks old and i LOVE THEM! its nice to know im surrounded by others who love and appreciate their chickens as much as i do
i live right on the space coast in brevard. i can see KSC from my backyard basically.

so here is my main question for you all? are there any swaps or meets within reasonable distance from me here on the east coast?

Hi Chem, you live near us! We watch the launches from the front porch. Welcome to the thread/group. There is a swap in the planning stages for Brevard county. What kind of chicks did you get?

hello fuzzybutt and celticoaks!!

oh man i cannot wait to attend my first swap! i have always loved chickens, ever since i was young. believe it or not, i used to skip school in kindergarden AND first grade just so i could go play in the woods with my imaginary chicks lol i never had imaginary friends, just chickens

boy my mother would get so mad at me! well, now i am 31 years old and capable of raising and loving chickens... for real now lol they are my heart! i love my babies so much. i have 6 chicks total that are 9 weeks old. i have 2 RIR hens, 1 Barred Rock roo, 1 Silver Sebright bantam roo, 1 Silver Duckwing OEG hen and 1 mystery hen that I rescued. Honestly I think she is a mix so I have no idea what she is. But she is a larger hen. I am also hand raising in my brooder 4 more chicks for my friends whom have recently had some issues on their land. The babies are safe with me
Yesterday my little man JJ (the sebright) learned to crow! Its the cutest and the funniest thing ever lol I actually was able to record it on video and I posted it last night. You should check it out if you get a chance. Im so proud of him
My little silver duckwing OEG is a mama girl. She is extra small for a bantam and she is the most loving pet ever! She runs to me and jumps on my lap to chill or sleep all the time. Since she is very small she is getting picked on too much. It makes her very sad and she screams and runs to me. I just got her a diaper yesterday so she will be coming inside the house to be with me for a good portion of the day. She isnt attached to any other chickens, she is really only attached to me. She is so precious All she wants to do is follow me into the house and be with me so she is getting her wish

i love being a new chicken mommy and i look forward to owning more! not too many of course but i would like a few smaller bantam breeds. i will be so excited to meet everyone at a swap! oh the beautiful chickens i bet i will see! hopefully i can come home with a few

i can sit all day and talk about my feathered children but that can get boring to some lol

I came home the other night and found a chicken on my lawn. He is a big brown rooster. He is cute and friendly, but I don't think I can keep him since the dogs bark when they see him and I'm afraid they might hurt him. Would anybody like a handsome brown rooster in the. ft. Lauderdale are or know of a nice home that might take him? It's weird I don't live buy any farms. He looks like somebody took good care of him. He is really fat. I was feeding I'm this morning and he's so cute. I don't think I can eat chicken anymore.

You should post a picture in the what greediest this thread it might be easier to find him a home.
