FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I know there is a Lady in the Wauchula area. The gal that is raising my chicks for me, has been to her place and bought some chickens from her. I can find out her name and maybe provide a number if you like.

Ok, I have a little bit on info...rest to follow.
Her name is Rose, and she is actualy in Fort Meade, a little closer to you.

My friend is at work tonight and will get the phone number for me tomorrow.
Hope I can find my way back to this thread tomorrow LOL :)

Had a RIR hen death today. Found her in the pool this afternoon. She was almost 2 years old and one of my first chickens. Awesome layer and wonderful pet.

But we only are keeping 4 chickens at a time and need another layer. Thought I might put this note out in case someone in the NE Florida area had a hen needing rehomed or for sale. Our other chickens are about the same age and we do not keep a rooster. We have an a-frame coop with two nesting boxes and our chickens are put out to pasture morning to night.

it's a shame we are at opposite ends of the state...

Hi Gator Shark

Welcome to this neat forum.

My Mother was from Apalachicola. We used to go up there alot when I was a kid.
Sorry I can't help you with your needs, I'm a lot further south, and I'm just getting back into chickens myself.
Good luck finding what you need.....what breed of fertile eggs are you looking for?

Yes. I was thinking the same when I read your previous post.

It never rains but it pours when it comes to bad news. DH failed to count the chickens ( there are only three at this point) when he locked up the coop last night. We heard an animal last night and this morning one chicken missing ( Nugget), and another with a patch of feathers on its back and tail feathers missing. now we have a predator with a taste for chicken and we need to replace two hens.

My two surving hens are a little less than two years old. A RIR and Australorp. Could I introduce two pullets safely? We pasture in the daylight and coop them up at night.

Hi, Im' new here, and I'm from Sebring, Florida. Add me!  ;-)

Hi all!! And hi, Pasomom! Just joined today and I'm in Sebring also. We have two Americaunas, real ones from a breeder, and a Salmon Fav, plus one line Silkie hen from Bobbi Porti and a bunch of chicks from Bobbi too plus some Eng Orp eggs in the incubator! We live in the city and can only have hens. I love our hens, especially Flory, the salmon Fav. And getting eggs each morning is just the best thing ever. Nice to see another person in Sebring! And Florida as well. I'll likely need to re-home several of the new chicks soon, as we see who is a rooster, and who we have room for. Anyways, hi everyone!
