Hello fellow Floridians! I want to share something I discovered last year before my chickens were able to free range. There is a weed called Florida Pusley that is very common, very easy to pull up, and loved by the chickens. Here's a picture of it. It spreads out from a central root to form a sort of mat low on the ground. The leaves have a sort of hairy feel to them and the plant produces small white flowers as it matures. If you pick up the branches and trace back to the center, they are easily pulled up, roots and all. Both your grass and your chickens will be glad you harvested! P.S. Even though it's called Florida Pusley, I understand it is pretty common all over the SE.

It's also called chickweed and they do love it. Does anyone have any ideas how to grow it in pots or in their run?
