FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I have a question for all you NPIP certified. I have been trying to find out what I need to get it, how much it costs, and so on. I have been looking online and am not getting anywhere. I asked someone at this weeks swap in Crystal River. I wanted to cry after talking with her. I'm new to this and just want to do it right. I have been trying to find out for almost a year now. And still can't find what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

That person was me and I didn't have the information with me. There is no cost and a testing agent will come out to you place to test your birds. Hopes this helps. Scroll through the list and look for Florida (FL)

I do not know how to help except I found this on eHow. This might be an older listing for phone numbers, etc. Hopefully, it will guide you in the right direction.

thank you I have made a phone call to miss. Jenningsglover. And am waiting for a reply. I didn't know being a byc member would make any kind of difference.

I had to leave a message also. My usual testing agent moved to Texas. It doesn't make a difference. I just don't meet many BYC members at swaps, mostly I see some members at the shows.

Getting npip was very easy to do.I live in NW Florida and called Florida Dept of Agriculture in Tallahassee. I'm sure they can give you the number you need to call for your area. They make arrangements to come to your home..Just make sure to have your birds caged or caught so they can test them (all) It's a blood test and and a swab from there mouth..didn't take to long to do. There number is 850-251-1226 or [email protected]. Hope this helps, and they were very nice people.

Just found out about this new law that was passed in Florida this year. Makes it a lot easier to sell eggs to the public and restaurants. I don't like the cost of the permit but if one is selling a lot of eggs then you could easily recoup the cost.

I did call and ask a few more questions. One thing the lady told me was that you can not have a rooster in with your laying hens. Eggs sold to the public must be unfertilized.
