FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Very pretty birds! Your EE rooster is a handsome fellow. I'm sorry I can't increase our flock right now, but I wanted to offer a suggestion. Does your local Tractor Supply have farm days? It's usually on a Saturday, set up in their parking lot where local people bring what they're selling / swapping. There are usually people with chickens for sale, gardening plants, etc. Perhaps you could use this as an avenue for rehoming your birds. You might want to call the TSC manager to ask specifics of renting a table / parking lot space or however that works.
Good luck finding them a new home. It would be great if someone suffering from a chicken math condition could take them all together. Best wishes!

My TSC doesn’t host any sort of farm swap but in a town not too far there are farm swaps every Saturday. However I work weekends, and the one time I went there was so many roosters for sale. Someone is supposed to come pick mine up tomorrow, we’ll see!

good morning, great suggestion on the Tractor Supply, i have one in the next county up from where I live, and they also have an advertising wall inside where people post all kind of animal stuff, selling, buyinr, re-homing, etc. the 1 one i use has a farmers market 1 once a month, nice turn out, even sell eggs, and produce there, other times they have arts and crafts booths as well. nice looking Rooster, should be able to re-home quickly. Good luck!

Hello everyone! I'm from St. Petersburg and am just getting started with backyard chickens. I have 5, 5 week old chickens already in the back yard and still trying to figure out which ones are hens and roosters. I have another 9 that hatched 2 weeks ago and they are all cream legbars. I'm pretty sure that at least 4 or 5 of them are roosters. Anyone else from the St. Petersburg area?

Hello and congratulations on your new chickens. Not from the area but you might want to start thinking about what you will do with all those cockerels. The recommended rooster to hen ratio is 1:8/10. We don't have roosters but there are many on this site who do and can provide lots of great advice. Good luck with everything.

The "Hen or Rooster" game is one that will remain challenging aas you continue your chicken journey.

Good luck and welcome to BYC!!

I've already been in touch with someone in Clearwater that said he will take all of my roosters. I'm going to weed out the Legbars since it is pretty easy to spot the cockerels by their coloring.

Will your contact in Clearwater take my cockerels too? Lol. Seriously though, I’m about an hour and a half north of you in Homosassa and I have some boys to rehome. I’m not from St Pete but my husband and I often go down to Honeymoon Island, Caladesi, and Fort De Soto. Our favorite motel is on St Pete Beach close to Pass-A-Grille. Originally I grew up in Englewood so I’m a Florida native.
