How are you fellow Floridian, love those Minnies, I have a few of those although I prefer the larger variety of chicken for egg production, mostly Heritage Breeds, what started out as 15 chickens mathematically turned in 65 chickens now. I have to stop this madness....lol

That's so cool. I would love to sneak ours in the house but I think hubby would notice and not agree.....it's the poop thing.

all my chickens started in the house in our family room ina a large enclosure, they loved to watch Jerry Springer and Cheater's lol, i keep them until their fully feather then I take them to the ranch, just took a batch of those tiny Bantams to the farm this weekend they been in the house nearly 1 year now.

Good morning, am so sorry that your Clementine did not come back, we have our fair share of trouble with racoons this far south as well, we keep dogs that often deter not just the racoons but the possums and iguanas as well. Cats ward off the rats most of the time although I have seen some of my roosters come after the rats when they get to close to the nesting boxes, and yes we also have to deal with aerial predators a swell, we have those large Florida Hawks and such out here, how are you managing with the heat and rains?

I live very close to the Dolphin Mall, just have a small patio where I'm trying to build a mini food forest. My chicken are my pets with benefits because they give me eggs although not every day. That's great you play music to your animals too, I also play the guitar we should get together and prepare a show for our flock
