Hello!

So, we bought two little chicks about a month ago for our son. They were supposed to be pullets. Nope! Both roos and they are already fighting. Guess we'll be eating those guys. *sigh* Still need a few more laying hens so I asked hubby to pick what chicken breed he wanted. He chose Easter Eggers. We need two pullets to be future laying hens. I would also like to raise two or three turkeys for Thanksgiving (give away two, keep one). Our oven is not big enough to hold a bird over about 16 pounds, though. I'm thinking heritage breed?

In summary, our WANT list:

1) Two baby Easter Egger hens.

2) Two or three heritage breed turkeys to be purchased in time for modest sized Thanksgiving birds.

Was just wondering at what age could i put my chicks outside. they seem to be getting restless in the part time coop.

the weather is nice here around 80 -90 in the daytime and in the 70's at night.

Thanks

Tres Leches
