When you say House Chick, house hen are you saying the hen stays in the house??? Are they potty trained? What do they do all day if not scratching around the yard? Very curious......................
Is there a hatchery or feed store specializing in poultry in Gainesville or Archer? and what is the name of it....
I thought I might go to Waldo flea market this weekend and wondering if the store is kinda close by.
Hi Floridians.
Anyone need some roosters? I am Rooster RICH! I am getting about 70% boys on my hatched eggs.
So far I think I have around 14 of them, not really Roosters yet but they will be.
I have a couple Buff Orps hatched on 6/27 from okihens eggs, an EE he is probably 4-5 months old from a local breeder, D'Uccles - porcelain, golden necks from Camelot Farms eggs hatched 7/19 and mottled from Pampered Poultry's eggs hatched 7/22. I am just west of West Palm Beach. PM me if you are interested or would like to see pictures.

Yep, Zee rules the avairy, the kennels, the laundry area, the bathroom! She rules them all. She dosen't like the litter box but will use papers. Since the birds throw their seed on the floor, she will scratch and eat that too. I take her outside in the early evening and let her eat the grass and weeds and scratch. When our son gets home from Ft.Jackson, he's planning to build a chicken tractor fro her so she'll be able to spend more time outside but she will remain a House Chick.

I too live in western West Palm Beach, & have already contacted Chris. But I want the rest of you to know that I know how to process chickens and am happy to tutor other BYC members. I have a station already set up in the yard and it's really easy. I have found it very empowering to have learned this basic human survival skill, & am willing to share with others.
Laura (DragonEggs) and I also learned how to caponize cockerels, and I can show you that procedure too.
