We have all sorts of commitments. I need to keep closer tabs on the swap meets thread - I could have made plans to attend.

Just one question - as a "native St. Petersburger" from Country Club Rd - a block from Azalea Jr Hi - how the heck do you have chickens in St. Pete.? And....way to go! (transplanted to KY years ago but just sold the CC Rd house this year)

You can have AS MANY AS YOU WANT! Technically, the coops are supposed to be 100 feet from the neighbors house, but who's really measuring? If you get signed permission you can put them closer. No roosters, though.

OMG you can really have chickens in St. Pete? Unbelievable/awesome! My MIL used to live in Yacht Club where they weren't allowed to have a CLOTHESLINE OR PICKUP TRUCK! When I was little my aunt lived on 4th Ave and I remember the lady across the alley had some chickens in her back yard, but that was in the late 50s/early 60s. Best of luck with your swap and all your Florida chickens!

Hey Floridians, I am hoping someone here can help me out. We have a 3 yr old Maine coon male cat that we need to find a home for..HE IS Great with our chickens but he is inside and he keeps peeing on furniture..we CANNOT keep doing this!! we have spent a LOT of $$ at the vet in the last 2 yrs trying to fix this issue...behavior modification sprays and countless other things and we just cannot keep dealing with urine on furniture.. he is fixed..
please email me if you are interested in giving Romeo a farm life!

Welcome to the new ones, just Updated the page!!!Over 200 and still growing

:(We just found out today that we have two roosters. My 10 year old was in tears as we can't have roosters- we are hoping to find them forever homes (we do not want these birds to go in the stew pot).... If anyone has room for 2 very friendly roosters, please let me know. We would keep them if we could.

I know their legs look dirty, but we had applied some moisturizer on their legs this morning (after which they promptly went to the dirtiest spot they could find).

Both of these roosters are very sweet and will run right up to you

Update 11/18/2010: We found a very good local home!
