FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Although I am new to chickens, I can tell you that my girls love to be hand fed just about any weed green. For some reason it tastes better to them if I am feeding it to them and they are all fighting over it. I have also given them strawberry pieces and over ripe tomato which they love! I've also been known to grab up grubs or beetles I find while eating and offer them to the chickens, too! Mole cricket grubs seem to be the most delish!

I like the idea of training them to the sound of a metal can full of scratch. Think I will do that, too!

Hi Cindylou!

Hi Flamoeba!

One of my favorite things to give chickens once in a blue moon is fruit flavored yogurt. They love it and it's cute how it gets stuck on their beaks! Weed seeds and greens are a great idea. My guineas used to strip the seeds off of weeds and leave the plant. Amazing.

On the treat subject.... Son did his science fair this year on citrus and it's effect on egg production. 2 EE and 2 RIR same age, same hatchery order. The two week control week we would get staggered eggs. Sometimes 2, othervtimes 3 rarely 4. So then comes the 4 week active experiment. 4 eggs everyday for 4 weeks. 2 brown, 1 green 1 olive green. He took 3rd in animal science this year.

Now, we are looking for a peafowl, specifically a peacock if anyone knows of any local (semi local)
