Hi floridian chicken keepers! I live in Jacksonville (Jacksonville Beach) and I raise silkies. I also have modern games, turkens, barred rocks and frizzles.

I just read the newest positive comments posted to that newspaper, thanks! I think I know why there are such harsh & hateful comments there, it's because you can post and remain anonymous. In my college psychology textbook I read of a study where a person would be hooked up to receive a mild shock when another person pressed a button. When the people were separated by clear glass the button would be pressed only a few times. It would be pressed more often if it were one-way glass, and the victim could not see the person causing the pain. The button would be pressed the most often if the victim & the pusher were both out of view from the other. Conclusion: people are meaner when they can't see how they're hurting others, when others can't see who is hurting them.

This makes me all the more grateful for our well-moderated forum here at BYC, and the helpful, supportive tone that's kept.

How is everyone this Thursday? We are busy hatching here this weekend, and prepping to set more call duck eggs this next week. Currently have 50 quail hatched, 5 olive Eggers, 10 EE who come from EE hen & Ameracuana roo, (need to go do a head count) lavender, lavender split and wheaten Ameracuana.
