Here are some zip codes that allow chickens. 32226, 32097, 32034, 32259, 32084, 32092, 32095 Some are outside of Jacksonville and this list does not include the west side of Jacksonville b/c that area did not work for us. There are some good houses on the west side.

Look for the word rural under the lot description.

The following realtor did a lot of good searching for us. She is not limited to a specific area.

Thank you! Unfortunately my boyfriend got fired so we are not looking to move to jacksonville any more, rather finding jobs closer to home!

That stinks!! good luck!!!

Thanks guys... I checked and they aren't developing after 5 days so I tossed them. Maybe they were left for a reason. I didn't want them to explode on my other eggs due to hatch soon

My girls are getting so big!!! I'm so hooked!! lol I think I will be sad if/once I have to rehome the roos....and I used to think people sad on this page were silly! lol

This is my first post on here. Hi! I'm Heather & I'm over in Melbourne. My city allows 5 hens...but 3 doors down a rooster crows. Whoops! Looks like the farm didn't sex that one properly. You know what, though? I much prefer the rooster to the loud motorcycle, the 11pm loud as a chainsaw mosquito spraying truck drive-by, the barking dogs, & other annoyances associated with suburban living. I'm a country girl at heart, somehow... & I've never lived on more than 1/3rd of an acre. Grew-up riding horses. My interest in local foods lead me to backyard chickening (& the fact that I finally live somewhere that allows it & we're finally not renting.) My husband is an attorney, so I can't go breaking laws. I am so proud of him & so thrilled he's letting me get a flock. I'm having a coop professionally built b/c I don't own proper saws & tools & we have a fox living in the woods behind us.

I'm the local chapter leader for the Weston A Price foundation. Hoping to do more with that in the future, once I am more settled in our new home. Hope to learn lots here from you sage chicken mommas (& poppas, though I'm guessing us social women kinda rule the roost here.)

I know the Spitz is because I have another that doesn't have any roo-ish features at all. This guy has the pointy feathers on his neck starting..

Let me know if you want them before I sell them
