Hahaha - I know! Leash law? Well, since we live at the end of a cul-de-sac, a couple neighbors open the front door and let their dogs run free. Of course, they all seem to make a beeline to my front yard to relieve themselves. We used to get really upset, but then again I have roosters, so pick your poison.

The chihuahua thought she was going to get a drumstick! Wish I would have thought to take a picture, but she was yelping so loud I was afraid everyone would come running.

thanks for the welcome... We have 5 acres in Buckingham so no problems keeping chickies. I'm presently building our coop, so don't need another one. I hope to have it completed this w/e and then, off to find some chicks!

What you should tell the owner if they do say something about their dog being trapped by you.Just let them know that it's not your fault tht he got in your trap cause you was trying to catch a coon that has been killing your chickens.They should understand.

A lady came by today to buy some chickens and started talking t me about the sanford swap they had and I told her that I might have a swap soon and she said she will be here with no problems. And I told her about BYC!

Yeah, my neighbors are good. We've all lived on this street more than a decade, so we've watched each other's children grow up, and witnessed the whole spectrum of life: marriage, divorce, death, illness, hurricanes, etc. - that creates a bond. Some of us have keys to each other's houses, in case of emergency, and sometimes my husband even loans out his pickup truck when the people across the street need it. I took a couple dozen eggs to the neighbors who helped me clean up Goosedown's remains yesterday. It's good to keep the peace if at all possible, because you just never know when you'll need a helping hand. My neighbors know how much I love animals...in fact, I'm one of the few people who is actually fond of the crazy little yapping chihuahua!

This time the trap is set with a mushy tuna sandwich, next to the chicken coop. My eldest daughter can see it from her window, so she's in charge of keeping an eye on things, because I need to get some sleep!
