It's apparant we've got a predator visiting our yard! I think it's a bobcat. Tonight 2 ducks did not return to their pen when it was time to put them in their houses for the night. And when we checked on our rabbit that lives in an outdoor hutch we found to our dismay that part of the wire was broken and the bunny is gone. Time to rearrange our schedules so that we're home before sundown in order to put everyone safely in their houses by nightfall.

Hi fellow Floridians!

I have some cockerels I need to rehome and figured I'd see if any of you are interested. I have 2 Blue Copper Marans, 1 Splash Copper Marans, a blue barred cuckoo Marans/EE mix, and a "Lemon Blue Marans" - he came out of Coppers, but instead of the copper he has lemon.

He'd make for an interesting project, but I don't need any more! I also have a few Mottled Cochin cross cockerels that need to go. All are free to good pet home. Let me know if you're interested!

On craigslist someone is selling a incubator w/eggturner - $70 (cocoa) sounds like a good deal but I already built me one and it works great is why I'm not jumping on it.

Not that brand, they are still air styrofoam and hard to regulate. The turner is worth 50 though.

Thanks so much for the chickadees! They are darling. Mom was in her daze, sitting on her rock, plastic easter eggs, & an egg that the other one decided to lay on top of her.... so I decided to pop them under her & see what happened. When one came out they gazed at each other longingly, lovingly.... I showed them water & food- they had a mini snack & are back under there. Mom wasn't into the idea of moving the nest to the bottom floor, so I caged them in up high so no babies fall down from the sky! they are snuggling & enjoying each other. So happy to see her finally with some babies. Thanks for saving my broody! I am such a chicken pushover. Now none of my other hens better go broody...

Oh, & my silkie "roo" is practicing crowing again when I got home. It's a very soft, faint, hoarse crow... & all the neighbors say to keep him if he's quiet enough... but just in case, anyone interested in a silkie rooster?
