Ok my hubby & I had made our bator out of a cooler but I just started doing a little more research & I found something that said we needed to drill 3 holes on one side for circulation..??? Is this true? We have our light bulb mounted on the side w/ the curve over the wheels & the chicken wire (hardware wire) that lines the bottom of the cooler also wraps up & around the bend as well so any hatched chickies can't get burned by the bulb. We have a small container w/ a wet sponge for the humidity, a digital thermometer that reads both temp & humidity, & the eggs are ready to go in unless we need to make modifications. Did we miss something, anything?! Thank y'all in advance!

Thank ya'll! So far so good today, temp stayed between 99-100 and humidity around 43-45... I have turned them 3 times so far & I am planning on turning the 1 more time before bed tonight. Any suggestions to try and help me with a successful hatch.

If you haven't already set up a thread in the incubating/hatching area.. that was so much fun for me with my first hatch. To me your humidity is a little high.. I like to keep mine rather low until the end. 25-30% Look up info on DRY HATCH. You should always turn your eggs an odd number of times a day.. that way you go to bed at night and they spend their longest time (bed time) on the opposite side as bed time last night
